Check out our new children’s book, Finding Balance!
In the book Finding Balance Yin and Yang are twin dogs trying to find their baby brother Balance. Each illustration will contain the yin and yang symbol through the dogs. Yin is a black dog with a white spot and Yang is a white dog with a black dot. Their search takes you on an exploration of the five elements (fire, earth, metal, water, wood). Each element helps Yin and Yang work together to find Balance. To emphasize the importance of each element, the dogs will have adventures by fire (red), on the earth (yellow), with metal (white), by the water (blue), and in the woods (green). The 5 elements are represented by different emotions the dogs will experience throughout the book; fire is order or overjoy, earth is trust and worry, metal is organization, water is pensiveness and fear and wood is indecision and anger. In the end, the dogs will work together to center their qi pronounced “chi.” Qi is our life source. By balancing yin and yang as well as the five elements we can all center our qi. Our hope is that through this book parents and children can learn to center themselves through being outside and using breathing and meditation.
